Static contact angle measurement involves the placement of microliter sized droplets on a sample surface. The angle formed at the boundary of the droplet is the contact angle, which characterizes a surface’s wettability. Dynamic contact angle measurements quantify contact angle hysteresis (the difference between advancing and receding contact angles), roll-off angle and absorption which can be useful for both non-absorbing and sponge-like materials. The single atomic layer sensitivity makes contact angle measurement ideal for surface cleanliness and contamination detection for medical devices, fabrics, thin films and wafers.

FPD-CP1

FPD-CP1 is developed as the successor of FPD-MH20 discontinued.  This system is composed of measuring head, control circuit, and analysis software to measure contact angle, and designed to be equipped on an instrument that has a working sample stage.  Data transmission through RS232C is possible.

The system is specially designed to observe droplet with lateral image capturing system basically but the USB camera system is built in a slight upper section at a slant.  It allows to measure contact angle of large sized flat panels like LCD, OLED and wafers according to the capacity of sample stage of the host instrument.

FPD-MH20 cannot measure contact angle larger than 90° because of top view analysis system, but FPD-CP1 does not have the restriction thanks to the lateral image capturing system.

MCA-3

With an adaptable micrometer capillary dispensing system, the MCA-3 enables the generation of Nano and Pico droplets. This state of the art system allows measurements of a micro area within 100μm wide. In addition, it can determine whether the wetting behavior of droplet is altered with a droplet volume in the range of Micro, Nano and Pico liters.

  • Top view camera and the capillary system allows for the pinpointed measurement and the observation of droplet spreading
